Posting Cards
2004

My neighbour Tom and I made up a game: we shuffled and split a pack of cards, and each of us sent 26 individual cards to galleries and institutions whose addresses we found in the back of Art Monthly. We addressed them to each other, so that on delivery they would be returned.

When a sufficient number of cards had been returned, we played a game of poker, opening each envelope in turn.

Incredibly, I won with a straight flush.

Everyone thought I had cheated, but I hadn't.
